Just a few random notes to make, first one being more related to my emotional state than anything, and I don't want anyone making any statements about this how I'm gonna be one day, really happy or uber-depressed.. Anyway, enough with the glooms!
I found yet another movie I love - Howl's Moving Castle.. All of Miyazaki's works are great, but this one just tops them all (IMO). And now that you've heard all that, I'm.. out of things to update! So.. I'll just leave this here and that there, and maybe, just maybe, I'll have one of those "good" days today. If that's at all possible.
Wait! If you really believed I was out of things to say, you're mistaken! This new JRPG came out about a week ago - Chaos Wars.. and it upset me to no end. It was supposed to be a game that has cross-overs galore.. Well, it does have cross-overs, mainly from Shadow Hearts, and some of Atlus's works.. but the voice acting is just horrible. Its as though they found all the rejects from all the worst games (Shining Force NEO, anyone?) And hired them for this game. It sounds like Karen is on valium for one, and Uru is voiced so incredibly gay that I can't even play it without getting that grinding feeling in my spine. So.. here's my review!
Gameplay: 8 - It has decent gameplay mechanics, as well as new, innovative levelling system.
Music: 6 - Its.. repetetive. There definitely won't be a soundtrack for this game, seeing as there's only like 8 songs total in the entire game
Voices: -10 - Yes, a NEGATIVE voice, and if you played it, you would know. Its so annoying, that even turning it to Japanese voices will annoy you.
Storyline - 8 - It's decent, however not quite enough to get past the incredibly horrible voice acting.
All in all, if I were given the choice all over again.. I wouldn't have bought the game. However, if you think you want to know just how horrible voice acting in games can get, at least rent it. You'll see what I mean by "grating"..
